Vintage Keys…

I finally finished this set of vintage keys.  They’ve been sitting in the garage, waiting, for me to decide just what to do with them.

They were kind of boring and dated, huh? Like most of my pieces, they had to “evolve”.

I used a wash of Annie Sloan Chalk Paints® in Old White and Florence. *To do a “wash” add a little water to your paint, if the paint starts to cover too much, just add water to your paint brush and wipe off the excess.* I think Florence gives a lovely patina!
I then added a little gilding wax to the Fleur de Lis and finished with ASCP Clear Wax.   They are for sale on my “Shop” page!

Annie Sloan Coco…

A dear friend picked up this sweet mirror for me at Kirkland’s.  It was a steal, ONLY $22!!  (Thanks Anna) I really liked the shape and style but the color just didn’t work in my home.   It was a soft, creamy yellow, like the color of butter, pretty, but not for me.
This little beauty had to be painted!  The frame is metal but I wanted the look of weathered wood so I opted for Coco.  Plus, I really wanted to give it a try.  New color, new mirror, new adventure!
Yes, I used wax paper!
After the paint dried (about 20 minutes) I waxed with ASCP Clear Wax then dry brushed with ASCP Old White.  It really gave it that RH weathered wood look, I love!
Coco with Old White dry brushed on the outer frame:
You can see how Old White softens the brown tones of Coco:

I love the finish and see more Coco projects in my future…🔮  This little beauty now looks like it belongs with my decor.

Like always, if you have any questions about the process, feel free to ask. Have a fabulous day!

7. It’s a girls’ paint, but boys can use it too
8. It’s flexible so you can be creative and change your mind
9. It allows your walls to breathe so it is perfect for cottage walls
10. You can use it as an impasto (thickly) – leave the lid off to thicken
