I grabbed my assistants and headed out early Saturday morning for some “picking”, as the DH likes to call it. Picking, junking, garage sale, Goodwill rummaging… Whatever you want to call it.
My Saturday morning assistants:
Our neighborhood had their annual Yard Sale on Saturday, I had high hopes for some furniture to paint, but no luck. My lovely assistant, on the left, scored a trunk load of Stephen King hardback novels! She was more than thrilled with her find! I’m still shocked they assisted so early on a Saturday morning.😱
After a major freak out moment, assistant on the left forgot her ATM card in the machine so I had to drive like a mad woman to the bank. SUCCESS, they were able to recover it! On the way home, we headed over to the local Farmer’s Market and left with some delicious Kenny’s Cheese and a Mason Jar bouquet of fresh flowers. Then we busted a “U” after seeing a YARD SALE sign!! So happy we stopped because we met a dear Vietnam Veteran who was a hoot. “Hoot” is fitting because we scored this adorable owl mug that I turned into a planter. Just added some potting soil and a succulent and he was good to go!
The table is super heavy and quite unique! It is the size of an end table but the top turns to the side and opens to make a coffee sized table. How cool is that?!? The sweet salesman told us the story of when he purchased the table many years ago from a large, old farm house in northern Ohio. He shared a few more stories while peddling his wares, quite the comedian! I am happy with my finds and can’t wait to get started on their transformations. My paint shelf is low so I must go get more paint tomorrow, I might even purchase a COLOR! Annie Sloan has some beautiful blues in her Chalk Paint® color chart. What?? Maybe I need more coffee…
Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day!
